2006 Ultra Classic

2006 Ultra Classic
I’ve been looking for a bagger to add to my stable and I ran across a 2006 Ultra Classic. I’m a Dyna guy and I don’t know any issues to look for on the UC. The UC only has 750 miles and only 1 physical blemish that I could see. Looks like someone touched the hot left exhaust shield with some type of cloth and it’s burned on it. Not a show stopper for me. The tires don’t look dry rotted and it cranked right up and was very quiet. The seller even asked me if I wanted to take it for a ride. Of course I rode it and it was smooth as glass. So he’sasking 14750 for it and will include an extra windshield, 2 headsets, 2 helmets, driver’s backrest, and a cover. I think mid 13’s would be a fair price. What type of issues if any do these bikes have? Any words of wisdom will be appreciated. Thanks.

Agreed!
I just bought a 2011 FLHTP for $15300 with less than 2000 miles on it, so even with the low miles on the one your looking at I would think the price should be lower. Also, something else to consider is the 2009 and newer models have the new frame modification and bigger rear tire, so when I was shopping, I stayed with those years.

Good information. I didn't know anything about the tire or frame.

He's at least $2,000.00 too high. And all those extras are worth maybe $200.00 to the right person. I'd offer $2,500.00 less and see what happens. One thing at your disadvantage and advantage is it's bike season. He can ask for more now but there are also more for sale. And the thing about going for an 09 and the new frame, as far as I'm concerned not a big deal unless you canyon race and really push it. I have the older frame and it's just fine for touring. If you want to hot rod get a crotch rocket.

For me, if I was going to spend that kind of cash, I wanted the newer modifications.
Do yourself a favor and read up on the changes. Just Google it and you'll find tons of info on the exact changes, etc.
