Fork oil ?

Go read your shop manual, it clearly states a distance from the top of the tube with the tube compressed. There is even a tool mate to measure it. It is basically a syringe with a long tube and a stopper that you place on the tube at the selected distance. You insert it from the top and suction out the excess.

Before you open your mouth, why don't you try reading the manual, what you said in your first post was not 100% correct why do you think they tell you the OZ down to the tenth? If the forks are still in the frame you use the OZ measurement and in either case it can be done either way, so saying the amount is not used was BS..

Take it easy killer. If what you are proposing is removing the fork to drain the oil then reinstalling it to add the oil I guess your method of doing it will be just fine, as senseless as it may seem. And if you think you can drain the forks with them on the bike then I suggest you go read the manual again on that subject. Either way don't stress it and certainly don't have a stroke over it.
You made an absolute statement that was not absolutely correct, that has been my point, and yes I actually read my service manual and it clearly shows both ways of doing it, even posted a picture for you, that means your statement was not 100% correct. Well at least in the real world.

2009 FXDC: My Ride
Sorry guys, one silly question here.
I removed my fork tube & have intiminators which I need to put it in.
I have got 28oz of AMSOIL 10W50 which I got along with it
I need to fill up the fork tube with the oil before dropping in the intiminators.
When I saw the manual it says 26.6 oz as fork oil inside the tube. Is this for one side or for both? With intiminators inside the tube,do I need to go a bit less or should I stick to factory recommendations?
