Some really good points have been mention here. I have yet to put apes on my '11 Deluxe but I plan on going with either 16" Wild1 1 1/4" or Carlini 14" 1 1/2" Original ape. As mentioned earlier, the Carlinis are going to be taller over all than the Wild1 bars. That is why as of right now I am looking the two different heights. I might even throw the Carlini Gangsters into the mix. One thing to take into consideration is that Carlini bars do not have as much pullback at the grips which will effect wrist angles and therefore comfort. One thing you could do is take a few pieces of stiff wire and mock up several different types of bars using the specs from the manufacturer's website. Sit on the bike and try each one to see which you prefer. I have recent experience with the Wild1 16" x 1 1/4" apes on my past StreetBob and loved them. I am 5'7" and the bars were about eye level.

I am 5'11" have 14" Carlini Gangsta Apes with 1.5" High Roller risers, the height is perfect, the Gangsta Ape slopes back a bit in the bars.

Im 5'11" and putting on my 16" wild 1 chubbys with 1.5" risers and a Lepera Barebones seat.

They are a bit over my shoulder for height, but not enough to make the cops stop me. Shoulder height or lower for bars where i live.

Ive been finding it really comfy, heres a pic of the bars from last weekend when my brother and i were installing them. Shotgun shock to go on tonight, hopefully if he doesn't get called into work like last time.

Go with a taller bar and shorter riser. I had 18's on my Deluxe but used these risers:

Hey man, check out my sig pic. I'm 6'4, 240 and I use Wild 1's 14 inch on top 1.5 inch risers. I originally wanted 16's (which is what I thought I bought from a member here but he measured them wrong).

My arms are exactly parallel to th ground, and I'm happy with them especially the long trips.

I'll be doing 18-20's on my standard, but I couldn't be happier with my 14's

I'm 5'3" and run 14" bars with 1 1/2" risers. I can't imagine you wouldn't want to go taller. I just did a 3k road trip and never was I uncomfortable. My hands are just above my shoulder.
