I want to add tunes to my '07 Heritage but there's too many handlebar systems to choose from. I think I want speakers with built in amps and I definitely want to hear them over my Vance & Hines at 70 mph, usually with windsheild. I've seen some 40 and 50 watt speaker kits from Hogtunes, J&M, HD Boom.... all with mixed reviews. Planning to use an iPod / iPhone. Looking for some sound advice on what to buy. Appreciate your help.

 

I have the setup from motorcycletunes.com thing about having an amp outside the speakers if something happens any part can be replaced easily. I have the 500w system

 

I just bought the pyle 600 watt system..havent tried them on teh road but i think they will work out well..very small as well and CHEAP..i am not looking for BOSE quality however though..just something to cruise too

Been riding Harleys for 32 years and the best speakers are noise canceling ear phones. Good ones made to fit cost as much as an add on handlebar system but you get the advantage of ear plugs which you need if you want to hear when you get sixty. Mine are good enough that I barely have to increase the volume at speed to hear the same clarity.(Heard lyrics in songs that I never heard before and went home and erased them off the Ipod) Another advantage is you can still hear your surroundings and what's happening with your bike. Get the made to fit ones for all day comfort on your ears. Last two bikes were dressers and you had to have the volume so high to hear anything at speed your ears were constantly getting blasted. My Dad is deaf from running equ. all his life and lives in a world removed from ours. Protect you hearing!!!
