Like DH2683, I did my own only I didn't cut any wires.
1-Stripped a 1/4" section of insulation off of the accessory power wire coming from accessory switch #4 post.
2-Used inline splice crimp to attach a short piece of #16 wire into wire from the #4 post and covered it with liquid electric tape.
3-Unplugged the wire from the #1 post on the passing lamp switch and plugged in the new wire I spliced into the accessory power wire.
4-Taped over the plug I had removed from the #1 post of the Passing Lamp Switch.
Done in a 15th of the time you guys are going to spend and no headaches.
By the time you guys remove your accessory switch and perform the necessary steps required by moco to install their harness, you will wish you had saved your $29.95

 

I rode home one night on my '98 Ultra w/o a headlight and passing lamps only.

You'd be amazed at how much light they DON'T provide. But for other's visibility of the bike I think it's a good idea.

 

What a waste of $30. This ia 5 min mod

 

Yep, that's the way I plan to do mine when I install the Phase 7 LED's when they come out. Doing the "Big Light Thang" all at once.

Looks like the passing lights will work when the ignition switch is on accessory.

From the instructions: Turn the ignition key switch to ACCESSORY. The headlamp should turn OFF. Operate the auxiliary lamp switch on the fairing cap ON and OFF. The auxiliary lamps should turn ON and OFF with switch operation.

My rear turn signals stay on when the ignition switch is on accessory since I put the Running, Brake & turn signal wire harness on.

That will kill the battery in no time if you leave the spot lights on when listening to the radio and the ignition switch is on accessory.

I used that very schematic when I installed mine. Easy and done. Aux lights stay on as long as the switch is on. Hardest part of that job was figuring how to get my dang lock back in and working properly. (first time taking it all apart, now it's easy..)

 

I have a police glide, and the aux. lights aren't working, I guess the de-commissioning was only partially done. I'm not sure what switch is used on the cop bikes, I have a red button on the brake side that is for pursuit but it doesn't do anything right now. This $30.00 switch might be perfect for my bike.

 

Nice find! That along with the new Truck Light Phase 7 LED setup....

 

Waiting for the Phase 7 Truck-Lite led headlight to become available also.
