AME Chopper Kits

AME Chopper Kits
After researching several options, I have decided to add some rake to my 2006 FXDi35 Superglide. I don't really want to cut the frame and was wondering if anyone has used the AME kits. They claim the kits can increase rake without adverse effects on the trail. How are they able to do this. I don't want to build a "death trap". Any information on these kits would be helpful.

a friend of mine bought the 10 over kit for his 93 1400 intruder, what makes it work is the lower tree has an adapter that pushes out the lower tree giving the rake, bike was very stable and i even followed him doing 110mph with no issues. the kit does increase the distance between the upper and lower tree, not visually noticable, hope this helps.

Ordered 18* yesterday
After a lot of researching different ways to add more rake, ....ie: trees or frame mods, and then spending a lot of time on the phone talking to Greg @ AME, I decided to go this route. I also had talked to a couple of frame shops about cutting and raking the neck tubes. Both frame shops had to have the bike stripped down to the frame before they could cut and re-weld. This isn't any simple task. Then the estimated turn-around time was 3 months, again this isn't a option. Then there is the cost, both suggested around $900. SO.... I decided to go the AME route. Yes, the cost is more, but ... 1) Bike doesn't have to be stripped o the frame, 2) Only have to wait 3 weeks to get parts, 3) I can do the mods myself, 4) Front end will go from a Dyna Mid-Glide to a Dyna Wide-Glide with all the spacers and adapters supplied, 4) Since I already have +6" tubes I can order kit without them at a reduced price.
Sig pic shows bike with +18* trees. I'll post more pics after mods.
Now showing the 18*

ok so ill chime in seeing that i have the 14 degree kit. i have the burly slammer on the rear and i went 14 rake and 2 over in the tubes, the kit fits great installs great, and fairly easy to do. just make sure you have a torque wrench that will reach, i wanna say it is like 400 lbs of torque. just call back up there and talk to greg again tell him i sent and you kno me just describe my bike lol he know me, i went thru 2 different kits and not to mention so did my buddy so he know us pretty well if you have any questions on drop, rake, and tube length shout at me as I've had a lil experience in this area. greg tells people to call me on the phone when they are having second thoughts about rake and i usually sell em a kit lol. come to think of it i need to call him and start getting a payroll check from em lol
