I'm deciding between this one piece detachable and the regular backrest. Does anyone know how high is the passenger pad on this is compared with the medium low backrest? I guess what i'm asking is how comfortable is this sissybar compared to the medium low.

Touring solo helps put things in perspective.
Sissy bars rock. Buried in there is a med low with a sizable luggage rack:

Hi All,

I'm pretty new over here, but have been following the posts from a while now. First of all sorry to bring this long lost thread up, but i need some information reagrding sissy bar.

I recently bought a 2015 Iron 883 and want to install the Tall sissy bars. However i have few doubts as mentioned below:-

1. If i go for the tall sissy bar (product ID - 52300040), do i need to buy side mount plates for this(I think its one peice and does not require side mount plates.

2. Do i need to relocate the turn signal indicators (as told by one of my friend)?

You advice on my query will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you go here you can see a picture of the bar as well as download
the installation instructions. It appears that no turnsignal relocation
is necessary. You do not need sideplates either because they are
built into the bar (see picture from link above).

hope this helps,

T.
