1977 oil leak from front drive chain sprocket

1977 oil leak from front drive chain sprocket
Hey guys 
My shovel is dripping oil from the drive chain front sprocket wheel at stand still ....... when not driving for some days it leaks from the chain sprocket wheel
makes a small pond of fresh oil in the pan i have placed on the floor
Is that a faulty pack box/seal ring at the sprocket wheel axle that leaks ? Or is there another explanation for the mess ?
