Default oil capacities on a fatboy

I have had a shop do my service but I want to do it myself this time. What is the capacity of the engine, transmission and primary on an 03 fatboy?

I don't know but I plan on doing all this myself as well and I bet all that info is in the service manual that I'm picking up next week : )

But.. I'm also curious as to what the bike takes in fluids.

Primary - 1 Quart
Transmission 22-24 Ounces
Engine 2.75 to 3 Quarts if you do not purge out all of the old oil.
3.5 Quarts if you do purge all the old oil out.

Remember to get all the gaskets, o-rings, new HD filter and some Teflon tape for the drain plugs.

Good thing you are getting the service manual, because your 2011 Softail takes more oil in the transmission, 32 ounces.

+1 Yes, get the service manual. We must all remember that a quick glance at a post can lead you astray.

The original question referenced an 03 FatBoy obviously I assumed a five speed 2003 FatBoy.

My numbers are not valid for a six speed.

Yeah I was kinda saying that if you plan on doing all that it would be a good idea to get the service manual for your bike. I had one for my sportster and it was very helpful.
