Need to remove wires from headlight can. But the hole is smaller then the hole that the wire comes through.
Q: Theres a 6-8 pin connector, How can I remove the pins from it plastic housing so I can remove the wire from the can.
Well the easiest way is to cut and solder... at the same time add in a little length I found that mine was a bit short with the headlight lift....or cut and put in a new electrical pin connection
I've never unpinned that end of the headlight lead but I've pulled the terminals out of the socket plug. Only 3 wires. The grommet is a tad tricky to get out that direction but I've done it that way many times and never had a problem.
Hi: My service manual list three different types of electrical connectors for Sportsters, each taking a different type of tool. I would suggest the cut and splice method of getting the connector out since this is probably a one time project. Go to the West Marine store in Honolulu and get some Anchor adhesive lined butt connectors and extra stranded wire. Crimp the butt connectors s normal but then heat them with a match, which melts the adhesive and makes a permenant water proof connector.
