Default Wide glide vs. Narrow glide???

Can some one explain the difference to me? I know what a FXDWG is. But I do not understand the difference when referring to the front end of the Dyna breed. And where does the Fat Bob, that would be FXDF not the tank, fall in all of this?

It seems, and I may be wrong here, that there is a 49mm wide and a 49mm narrow front?

Yes, there is 49mm wide and narrow. The wide is only on the wide glide. The narrow I believe is on FXD and FXDL. Could be other models it's available on within the dyna line, I'm just not sure.

and it pertains to the actual width of the forks/trees.

What SC said, plus the Wide Glide has more rake in the front end than any other Dyna model.

the mid glide is about 8.5o ln. c to c of the tubes. and the wide glide is about 9.25 I believe the fatbob is a wideglide with a different rake. It's been so long since i've even seen a narrow glide I couldn't tell you the c to c .

Having that longer rake makes for a wider wheelbase. The FXDWG has the 2nd largest wheelbase @ 68.3" that Harley makes. The Rocker C is the only Harley with a wider stance @ 69.2". Whereas the FXD's wheelbase is 64.2"

Concerning the older Dynas had 39mm tubes in narrow(sportster) trees and the wideglide had 41mm tubes in the wide(softail) trees. The earlier low rider shared the same frame as the wideglide.

I thought the non WG and FB front ends, 06 and up, were now considered mid-glides, not narrow glides. Narrow's would be the older models with smaller forks right?
