I'm 6'2" (which is not 6'4", I know), with mid controls and drag bars on my nightster and I have no problems. I actually like the riding position. Of course, I usually only ride around town and to work and back.

Take one for a ride. City and Highway if you can. This way you'll know if you're too big for it. Highway pegs or forwards would probably do you some good. I like highway pegs due to the option to stretch out or not.

I have the same setup on my bike, nice to have the best of both worlds, well sort of.

Im 6'1" (34" inseam) and was worried about the size of the Iron. Put forwards on and its just fine. My knees come above the tank on my fatboy even with extended forwards but don't on the Iron.

As other have said, test ride one... test ride with mids and forwards. In the end it's your choice based on how you feel.

Also, there are aftermarket seats that sit you a couple of inches farther back than stock.

When your knees act as steering stops....then you are too tall.

I have a friend that is 6' 8" and we went on a ride with a group of people one time and we switched bikes. i was on his Dyna wide glide and he was on my 1200c. people made fun of us the entire ride until we switched back. he looked like a raped ape on my sporty. he said he was comfortable with my forwards but man did he look funny!

K, heres the deal. im 6'3" 190 lbs. I used to ride a 02 883 custom, forward controls, bare bones sol, and 10" inch Z's. saw the new Iron and went out and bought it. Felt fine in show room. On the ride home, I thought OMG what have I done?! I felt like a midget giant on a midget bike. Heres why. 1. the iron is 3" shorter than my 09 iron. The stok seat pushes you forward. It had mids on it. and drag bars I was used to tall Z's. In other words, every component made me feel squished. I was scared id made a huge mistake. Oh on top of this, The stock pipes sounded like a babys bike. So first thing I did was buy a bare bones solo. That put me back an inch, then I bought 10" z's now things were getting better. and finally I got forward controls and every thing felt normal again, I could breath....Ahhhhhh. I did look into forwar control extension before I got my forwards, but after istaling my forwards, found extensions were not needed. Plus they look bad and limit the pipes you can use. Hope this helps

No Tall is too tall
I'm 6'4" too and I'm comfy as hell with my mid controls on my Nightster. If your comfortable then it works
