thinking of replacing my stock RK shocks with some street glide shocks and was just wanting to see some pics of how it looks. I don't think the ride would suffer and I don't want to mess with the front, just squat the rear a bit. I'm sure quite a few have done this.
if you want to keep your sig the same "06 road king police....built for comfort " I would leave it alone, you will lose a lil comfort in ride quality, the road king custom had the 1 inch shorter shocks, just look at them bikes for a idea
I'm not too worried about the ride. I could stand to put a little more air in them since that sundowner seat is so plush. Just want to give it a bit more aggressive stance (I can't seem to leave nothing alone )
i replaced mine for 1/2 in shorter progressives (11-1/2) cause of my short legs. that extra 1/2 inch made a big difference in my feet reaching the ground. much better for backing up, etc. i haven't noticed a major difference in comfort between the 2. however, i've never ridden with the 13 inch shocks so i couldn't give you an overall comparison. but i like mine the way it is.
yeah, I can flat foot my bike easy enough but a little more bend in the knees for maneuvering would be nice. That's what's nice about the softail frame.

I installed the low profile shocks HD has listed in the parts catalog. Will lower the bike by 3/4". It helped lower the riding hight enough so I could sit flat footed (5'7"). The comfort did not change at all if I adjusted the pressure in the shocks accordingly. It also gives the bike a cleaner profile to the ground, not much but noticeable. I have them installed in my sig pic.
