Default Difference between bike GPS and car GPS

I am thinking to get a GPS system, I cannot stand for small tiny screen, I am thinking to get a car GPS instead and mount it on the handle bar. There are so many different types out there, don't know which one to choose. I do understand the car GPS isn't water proof but it doesn't really matter to me, I only ride long trip on sunny day. Any input will be great, thanks Alex.

I thought about that also and asked about a car GPS on a bike. the main differences between the 2 are that a Bike GPS is rain proof and much better regarding the vibrations that you get on a bike.

Garmin 2820 is waterproof and I have had it on my bike for a year with no problems.

Thanks! For the $500 price tag, I rather put a raincoat on the GPS lol. I don't always go out for tour, may be 2-3 times a year the most, seeking something less expensive.
I found one for $169, click here, it seems to fit what I need.

Bike specific GPS units like the Garmin Zumo 450/550 have the buttons on the left, come with bike and car mounts,&nbsp\\;are waterproof, and you can enlarge the on screen keypad for use with gloves.&nbsp\\;

I installed my car GPS (Garmin 550) on my bike with a RAM mount, took it on a pretty long road trip with no issues.

Just make sure if you use a car GPS that it doesn't have a "hard drive" or the vibrations will crash it.

You also want&nbsp\\;to be able to push the buttons while wearing gloves.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; some&nbsp\\;of the Auto models would be almost impposible ot operated while on a bike
