Go to your local dmv web site and get the sample test for the motorcycle written exam, they are very similar if not the same.

everything on the test is covered in the class... there are no trick questions. They are there to teach you...

Click on Library and you can read all the material.... you just can't print it..... they'll "give" you a book at the class, and you get to keep it

Yes I know they are there to help, just doing extra studying on my own before the test. I found some stuff on the net that may be helpful. I'll post the links here for others that may need them. Heading to bed to get rest for the last day.

The test consists of the following:

Evaluation # 1
2 u-turns (1 left, 1 right) in a 20'x60' box. You will lose points for putting a foot down or crossing a border. Maximum points available = 8

Evaluation # 2
Swerve to the right around an obstacle. You will lose points for hitting the obstacle, braking during the swerve, going too slow (less than 12mph) or swerving in the wrong direction. Maximum points available =15

Evaluation # 3
Quick Stop. You will lose point for Stopping beyond the standard (1 point per foot over), not using both brakes, not downshifting to 1st gear, riding too slow (less than 12mph) or braking before the queue cones. Maximum points available =15

Evaluation # 4
Cornering. You will lose points for not using both brakes before the corner, looking down at the lines or cones, decelerating in the curve, crossing a boundry or riding too slow. Maximum points available =15

If you score between 0-20 you pass. 21 points or more and you will not earn a course completion card or DMV waiver.

Listen to the instructors, relax and have fun. Just do the best you can.

I remember the actual riding part of the test, figure 8 gave mem trouble lost couple points for putting my foot down.
But I'm a tall lanky guy and the bike they gave me was for someone of much less stature.

I think I remember a written test, but it wasn't hard at all, I think it was matching up names of the parts of a bike to a picture. Like will point toleft leverand you have to pick the answer as to what it is. Don't worry about written test.
