Default 96 Springer Softail Oil Change Questions

I attempted to change the engine oil and primary oil over the weekend on a '96 Springer Softail, but had some issues. I searched on this, but couldn't find conclusive answers:

(1) On the primary, I was able to drain the oil using the torx head drain plug located near the rear of the primary cover on the bottom. Furthermore, I took off the circular cover which is about 8 inches in diameter and held in place with three torx head screws. I'm assuming that I refill the primary oil directly through this cover with 1 quart of HD Formula Plus? My question here is that it does not look like the primary will hold 1 quart here because the bottom of the circular cover isn't that far above the bottom of the primary and that oil would start to drain out the cover hole before a full quart is added.

(2) On the engine oil, I was not able to locate the drain plug. I've read that I'm supposed to follow a rubber hose from the oil tank down to the bottom of the engine, but I couldn't find this. Does anybody have further direction or even better, a picture, which they could provide to help me out?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Make sure the bike is setting up level and the primary will take1 quart.

The Engine Oil drain is located on the right side of the (horse shoe)oil tank. Look/ feelon the inside of the right back of the tank. There will/should be a rubber hose running from there to the frame or a plug.

Should be a rubber hose on the bottom right side of the frame with a clamp and a plug on the end, mine had a little metal hook that held the hose in place to the frame so it wouldnt move.

I think you should get an H-D Service Manual for your bike.
