Unhappy RF PBR amp and speakers installed, very dissapointed

I installed the PBR 300x4 with the RF 5 1/4 in the tp. Up front I went with Titan/Hertz 6 1/2. I have amp set up for all pass, gain set first at 3 then 4,now finally at 5. I have to say I expected a lot more. It is pretty clear but to hear it really good you have to turn it almost all the way up. Put it this way with the HK radio my volume bar is under the E in volume. I can actually hear the rear speakers from the tp pods a lot more. I don't think anything is installed wrong, just wondering if there might be something I'am missing.

Sorry to hear that. I've been giving some thought to a similar set up. I held off when I found out that the Titans are 3 ohms. The Rockfords are 4. I don't know if that is part of the problem or not. I was told (by RF tech) anything under 4 ohms would make that amp run hot and those run hot anyway.
Hopefully someone here can help you out. Good luck.

Did you wire these in series using all 4 channels? I dont want to talk like you dont know what you are doing by any means so dont take that wrong. I just seen that the front and rear channels have separate gain controls as well... I'm sure you adjusted both gains as well?

Yes both gains are adjusted, and all 4 channels are being used. These new Biketronics Titan/Hertz 2's,or what ever the hell they call them are 4ohm. The older ones were 3ohm.

Sounds like you have everything correct... bummer! Too bad that amp isnt 2ohm stable you could get a little more out of it but I have heard they already run hot so that probably wouldnt be a option anyway. On the bright side at least they are fairly cheap

My limited experience with audio on HD's is that bang for the buck, a simple speaker change and no amp is best. If you want to run a amp, the Hawg Wired systems are best. Again, this is just my experience. I think once you get out on the highway at 70 mph, that is where you will see the benefits of your upgrades.

What is the sensitivity rating on the Hertz speakers compared to the RFs? There is no way you should be getting more sound from the 5-1/4 than the 6-1/2s unless the 6-1/2s are an inferior speaker. Also are you using any kind of dampening material to help with the acoustics.
