Hey man.. Hope you can help. So I picked up a 18x5.5 mammoth fat spoke rear wheel for my 2002 deuce. I have seen a bunch of your posts saying you got a 180/55/18 tire to fit with no issues other than trimming a spacer and grinding a brake tab. Can you tell me exactly what you trimmed or cut to get it to fit. I'm still using the stock pulley and belt and a Metzler tire. I made a first attempt to mount the wheel without any spacers so that I could take some measurements to have new ones cut. Well, it doesn't seem that the wheel would even go on - I couldn't even get it into position to slide the axle thru. Am I missing something or does it really take some pushing and shoving? I've read a million posts that this size wheel/tire will work but I don't know if there is a trick to getting it to fit.

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

    Hi Kiwideuce,
I love the rear fender on your bike, and I'm trying to find something similar for the Fat Boy Lo I am getting ready to buy. I don't like the stock duck bill. Could you tell me where you found that one?
    Thanks!

Sean; I need some help. I lowered my Fat boy following your post but the bike doesn't seem to look any different. I look at your before and after pictures and there is a big difference. Mine looks the same but rides rougher. Any suggestions? The new longer threaded rods only have about four threads left for adjustment. What am I missing? Charlie
