That pad is WAY thick. You could have it reworked by someone like mean city cycles and replace that thick foam with some gel or memory foam, That way, you might could shave an inch or two off while still keeping the comfort.

FYI, they are a sponsor here, or at least were. So there may be a member discount available.

I reached out to them but it wasn't something they could or maybe more so just weren't willing to take on at this time.

If she really likes riding with you, leverage it to get a new/bigger bike, like a softail or tourer if you wanted to go that big.

Mean City Cycles will be rebuild some brands of after market seats and others they won’t. They list on their site they can’t/won’t rebuild Corbin.
Saddleman wasn’t mentioned.

While actually removing the pad for riding isn't the right answer, remove it and both sit on the bike.
See if she feels like the space it provides (without the pad) is enough, then look into options that push the sissy bar back by that much.
That would allow you to reinstall the pad and give her the space she needs.

I suspect that the mounting arms on the sissy bar are either replaceable with longer versions, or yours could be customized for the additional space.

Funny thing about that. There's folks out there that are relatively young and they look and act like old people. You never know...
